Professor Feng is Associate Director General of the Chinese Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC), and he is also the director of the Public Health Emergency Center (PHEC) in China CDC. He has worked for China CDC at the national level for more than 10 years, since the founding of China CDC in 2002. He led the establishment and development of several divisions and programs, such as the National Immunization Program, the Division of Communicable Diseases, the Division of Disease Surveillance, and the Division of Disease Control and Emergency Response in China CDC. He has a very strong background in the prevention and control of disease outbreaks and in the preparedness for and response to public health emergencies and threats.
Professor Feng also is a senior lead in some academic societies and advisory committees. He is Secretary General of the Communicable Disease Standards Committee of the Ministry of Health and a cabinet member of the Advisory Committee of Public Health Emergency Response of Ministry of Health. He is the editor of the Chinese Journal of Vaccines and Immunization and Journal of Modern Preventive Medicine. He has published more than 60 academic papers in peer-reviewed journals in the past 15 years.
